Cash Donations

The Little Colonel Players (LCP) is an all-volunteer organization. The actors, directors, and board of directors all volunteer their time for the organization. LCP is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization. Donations are generally tax deductible. Our aging building requires updating which puts a strain on the budget. The Board of Directors assures you that any donation will be used judiciously. We survive largely on our ticket sales, but contributions do help. Please consider contributing at one of the levels listed below and help LCP continue to produce top notch shows in the future!

Trustee: $1,000 +

Show Sponsor: $500 – $999

Director’s Club: $100 – $499

Benefactor: $50 – $99

Patron: $25 – $49

Send your tax-deductible donation to Little Colonel Players, Inc., P.O. Box 532, Pewee Valley, KY. 40056.

Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

If you are required to take Required Minimum Distributions from your IRA accounts, consider a Qualified Charitable Distribution. A QCD is a donation from your IRA directly to your favorite charity (The Little Colonel Players). The amount counts towards your RMD for the year, but is NOT included in your taxable income, like normal RMD’s. It’s a great tool for saving on taxes and supporting LCP at the same time. Contact your IRA administrator for details on how you can use this tax saving tool to support LCP.

Donate stock or mutual funds shares directly to Little Colonel.

Instead of selling your non-cash assets like stock and mutual fund shares and donating the after-tax proceeds, it may be advantageous to donate these assets directly to The Little Colonel Players. You’ll get two significant benefits, as long as you’ve owned the assets for more than a year. You’ll generally be eligible to claim a tax deduction in the amount of the full fair market value, and neither you nor the charity will pay any taxes on the gain. Because of this, you will be able to give as much as 20 percent more to The Little Colonel Players than had you sold the asset and donated the after-tax proceeds. You also can donate stock that has significantly appreciated, and then buy more of the same stock, essentially “resetting” the cost basis at a higher amount. Contact us at littlecolonelplayers@gmail.com for more information.

Designate LCP as one of your beneficiaries in your retirement accounts

An easy way to help LCP though your estate is to add The Little Colonel Players as a beneficiary to one of your retirement accounts. Even a small percentage of an account can help support LCP for years to come.
